UNDER 21 YEARS OF AGE DUI SUSPENSION

If you were under 21 at the time of the offense and had a BAC over .01 then DMV will suspend your license for one year.  In order to get your license back you must do the following:

  1. Wait the entire one year of the suspension.
  2. Contact your insurance company and asked them to send a SR-22 to DMV.  Make sure they do it right then.
  3. Go to DMV and pay $140 re-instatement fee.  Once they verify that you have done the above your driver’s license will be fully re-instated.

NOTE: There is no restricted driver’s license available unless you qualify for a hardship license.  That requires a finding by DMV that you need a license to drive to work or school and that you live some distance from either, there is no one who can drive you, and there is no public transportation that is available.  It is very hard to get this status.
